- My understanding of Cardinals is that they use RPI. In other words,
- they do in software what should be done in hardware. Make sure you
- have th elatest drivers for your modem. Also, this could be a FIFO
- or flow control issue. Make sure your FIFO is enabled. (If it's
- external make sure you HAVE a FIFO--use MSD to see if you have a
- 16550 UART) Also, make sure your baud rate is 38400 or 57600, that
- hardware flow control is turned on, and that hardware flow control
- is _also_ turned on in your modem--just enabling CTS/RTS in your
- software doesn't always turn it on in your modem. Generally the
- at&k3 command turns it on. Also, try adding &d0 to the init. I've found
- that telling the modem to ignore DTR not only helps with frequent
- disconnects, but a range of other stuff as well. Post again or reply
- if you've already done all this. Oh, and check your comm.drv as well.
- You may have some funky one loading. In fact, if you're not using
- wfw, you should replace the comm.drv with cybercom.drv...the win 3.11
- and earlier comm.drv sucks. If you're on 95, you can do all this in
- properties boxes.
